    Types of Accounts

    • "person" email accounts
      • that are associated with an active MultiPass account
    • "generic" email accounts
      • that are NOT associated with an active MultiPass account (these can include non-active person accounts, ie. accounts of former students/employees)

     

     


     

     


     

    Logon Screen Experience

    There are 1 or 2 things you'll see when you are prompted to login

    1. Duquesne Federated Services login screen
      1. Login with your email address and MultiPass password
    2. Office 365 splash page
      1. Your can enter your email address (if not already populated)
      2. Click into the password field and it may begin Redirecting and should give you access, if not enter your MultiPass password

     


    Types of accounts (person & generic)


    The following information applies to "person" accounts that are associated with active MultiPass accounts!!

    (see below for "generic" account information)

    I. New Email and Calendar System
    Duquesne University is upgrading email and calendar services from Microsoft Outlook Live to Office 365. This migration will take place from August 1 through August 6. All of your existing email, contacts and calendar items will be migrated to the new environment. During the upgrade you can continue to use these services as you normally do. If prompted for a password, use your current DU MultiPass password.

    II. Email is now MultiPass Enabled
    Office 365 will now be linked to your current MultiPass password. Some users may have to enter their MultiPass password into their mobile device if their device no longer is properly accessing their email and calendar.

    III. New Web Address for Email
    If you use a web browser, you will now use www.outlook.com/duq.edu to access your email, calendars and contacts.

    IV. Seamlessly Works with Outlook Client
    If you use Outlook on your computer, Office 365 will work as it has in the past. Remember, if you are prompted for a password, you will now use your current MultiPass password in Outlook.

    (these can include non-active person accounts, ie. accounts of former students/employees that are not in MultiPass)

    I. New Email and Calendar System

    At some point during this migration you may briefly lose connection to your generic email or calendar. When this happens you will need to enter your new login ID. Your new generic email login ID will be your current generic ‘username' plus ‘@liveduq.onmicrosoft.com' (e.g. help@liveduq.onmicrosoft.com). Your current generic password will not change.

    Continue to publish your existing generic email address, (e.g help@duq.edu) as you will still receive mail sent to that address. However you will log on to that account using the new credentials, (e.g. help@liveduq.onmicrosoft.com).

    III. New Web Address for Email
    If you use a web browser for email, you will now use http://mail.office365.com to access your email, calendars and contacts. Your new generic email login ID will be your current generic ‘username' plus ‘@liveduq.onmicrosoft.com' (e.g. help@liveduq.onmicrosoft.com). Your password will not change.

    IV. Still Works with Outlook Client
    If you use Outlook on your computer to access a generic email account, Office 365 will work as it has in the past. During the migration you may briefly lose access to this mailbox and calendar. When this happens you will need to enter your new login ID. Your new generic email login ID will be your current generic ‘username' plus ‘@liveduq.onmicrosoft.com' (e.g. help@liveduq.onmicrosoft.com). Your password will not change.

    Skydrive seperate in Office 365

    After migration to Office 365, your Skydrive account and files will no longer be available inside of www.outlook.com/duq.edu

    • Skydrive and your files will still be accessible via www.skydrive.com
    • You will user your DU email address and your password (what is was before the migration) to access
    • The CTS Help Desk CAN NOT change your password for Skydrive, you will have to do that via www.skydrive.com
    • There was no option available to Duquesne to keep this unchanged, we apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.
