How we support students:
Finding service sites
Though not often, sometimes faculty ask students to find their own service sites. The Office of Service-Learning can help students find community partners that fit course content, interests, schedule, and transportation needs
Becoming a student leader
The OSL facilitates a student leadership program called the Community Engagement Scholar program. Undergraduate or graduate students can be selected to assist academic departments to strengthen their community engagement activities. In exchange, students receive an educational award from AmeriCorps and leadership training from the OSL.
Documenting Service-Learning Experience
Sometimes students need documentation of their service activities. The OSL can provide an official letter recognizing and documenting the effort put forth in service-learning classes.
