    Understanding Service-Learning For Students

Service-learning is required as part of an undergraduate Duquesne education. A service-learning course is exactly what it sounds like: a class that combines community-engaged service with classroom-engaged learning. Students gain real world experience while also helping others. The Pittsburgh region becomes a part of your classroom, as you work alongside your classmates and community members to make meaningful environmental and social change. Many Duquesne alumni discover that service-learning helped them further their careers, providing them with ways to demonstrate valuable professional experience.
