Bio

Dr. Andrea Yevchak joined the School of Nursing at Duquesne University in August 2013 as an Assistant Professor. Her research interests include improving care for older adults with dementia and delirium and their informal caregivers across settings of care. Dr. Yevchak received her PhD, MS, and BS from The Pennsylvania State University.

As a John A. Hartford Foundation Creating Careers Scholar from 2005-2007 and a John A. Hartford Foundation Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity Predoctoral Fellow from 2009-2011, Dr. Andrea Yevchak has had the opportunity to work closely with others across the country and around the globe on issues facing older adults. Her previous research experiences have allowed her to work on multiple NIH funded projects directed at vulnerable older adults. Together these have led to multiple publications, book chapters, and national, international, and regional presentations, as far away as Australia.

Dr. Yevchak brings new expertise to Duquesne University as a educator, researcher, and clinician with a focus on improving healthcare for vulnerable older adults across settings of care. She also brings capability in teaching in traditional classroom settings, as well as online courses. Her goals of improving care for older adults will enhance the experience for nursing students at Duquesne University, and the community of Pittsburgh.
