Ann L. Schiavone returned to Duquesne University School of Law in 2013 as an assistant professor of legal writing. Prior to joining Duquesne's faculty, she was a member of Akron University Law faculty and taught such varied courses as Legal Analysis, Research & Writing I & II, Legislative Process & Drafting, and seminars in Sexual Orientation and the Law and Animal Law. She also chaired the Admissions Committee at Akron.
Professor Schiavone received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Duquesne University School of Law, and her B.A., summa cum laude, from St. Vincent College After earning her law degree, Professor Schiavone was an associate litigation attorney at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart LLP (now K&L Gates) and Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC. While earning her law degree, she served as the legislative assistant in the Pennsylvania State Senate and House of Representatives.
Professor Schiavone is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar. In addition, she is a member of the Angel Ridge Animal Rescue Board of Directors, and the St. Vincent College Law Society Board of Directors. She lives with her husband and five dogs in the northern suburbs of Pittsburgh, and in her free time, Professor Schiavone is an avid equestrian and an amateur genealogist.
