John A. Conteh has several years of clinical experience comprising of working in community counseling agencies, psychiatric hospital, drug and alcohol rehabs, correctional facilities, and supervision of therapists working towards licensure and counselors in training. Over the last three years, John has taught various counseling courses at Holy Family University, Philadelphia, West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and Argosy University, Washington, DC. Also, he has taught a psychology course at the University of Phoenix, Columbia on-ground Campus, Maryland. John is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, an Approved Clinical Supervisor, a National Certified Counselor, and Distance Credentialed Counselor. As part of his professional development, John has membership with several professional organizations including the American Counseling Association, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, Chi Sigma Iota, North Atlantic Region Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, Pennsylvania Counseling Association, and Association for Assessment in Counseling and Education. His current research interests are trauma, crisis counseling, ethics in counseling, mentoring, multicultural issues, and graduate student development. John's current dissertation topic is a quantitative study on trauma and posttraumatic growth variables among counselors-in-training.
