Community Partners

Collaborating with community organizations is central to our work.  Community organizations are equal stakeholders in our work.  As we work to bridge the gap between educational leadership and social justice our partnerships with community organizations is designed to facilitates the dynamic, complex processes that Duquesne University students will experience in their respective professions by providing a natural container to support their learning to work for social justice.  Natural containers are defined as real environments that present real problems of practice needing to be worked through with individuals from a variety of professional backgrounds as well as members of said community   In other words, an intentionally assembled group of stakeholders.

The Homeless Children’s Education Fund (HCEF) is an organization in partnership with the University Council of Educational Administration Center for Educational Leadership and Social Justice (CELSJ) at Duquesne University that represents a natural container.
