The Ed.D. in Educational Leadership
• Leadership is the fusion of the mind, heart, and spirit in the moment of action.
• Transformational leadership starts from the inside out when leaders place themselves in service of others.
• Effective leaders have the intellectual rigor and the practical experience to engage educational challenges
with skill and courage.
• The practice of educating children and youth is a matter of social justice.
The Ed.D in Educational Leadership at Duquesne University School of Education is a 3-year program. Our doctoral students are formed carefully into cohorts to establish a learning community that studies and grows together. Offered by the diverse and award winning faculty of the Department of Foundations and Leadership, the program is framed by the principles of the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED) and enriched by the contributions of leading educational practitioners in our Scholars of Practice Network. The innovative curriculum allows students to qualify for the Pennsylvania Superintendent's credentials by taking two additional courses.
Come challenge your mind, heart, and spirit. Venture beyond problem-solving to create schools and educational communities where all children and youth learn and thrive.
