Course Description

This course involves the study of the legal consequences that arise from the agency relationship, a relationship in which one person acts on behalf of another. Topics covered include creation of the agency relationship; the nature of the agency relationship; the concept of principal, agent, master, servant, and independent contractor; scope of employment; authority; rights and liabilities of principals and agents in relation to third parties; and rights and liabilities of the types of principals and agents to one another. (2 credits)
