Course Description

This course will be designed to provide a general introduction to the law governing the organization, regulation, and operation of banks and other financial institutions. The emphasis will be on banking and finance in the United States, but will also cover some international aspects of the banking and financial services industries. There will also be discussion of the recent developments in the financial and banking industries that have led to bank failures. The course will be taught as a two-hour seminar course. The students will be required to write a 15-20 page paper. (2 credits) Paper
