Course Description:
This course will provide procedural and substantive considerations in Federal Habeas Corpus actions, state Post-Conviction Relief Act Filings, and other forms of post-direct appeal litigation for prisoners seeking exoneration or new trials. This course will focus on a critical and developing area of criminal practice that involves, in part, matters of alleged ineffectiveness of prior counsel and other bases of collateral relief. (2 credits) Paper
