Faculty - Professional Coach Certification Program (PCCP)
The program is taught by PCC and MCC certified coaches, professors, and subject-matter experts.
Susan Merrie English, OSB, EdD, CPCC, PCC, Co-director of Training, PCCP
Susan has over 30 years of experience as an educator in public, private and prison settings and has held leadership positions in state and local professional organizations. She is certified with Coaches Training Institute (CTI) and holds the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) designation from the International Coach Federation (ICF). Susan is an Educational Leadership Coach with Avanti Strategies and has a private practice in Life Coaching. She is a creative thinker; gentle listener and motivating guide in helping others achieve success. Some favorite clients are academicians, graduate students completing dissertations and leaders in education. Susan is a Benedictine Sister and is the 2010 President for the Pittsburgh Coaches Association.
Before becoming a certified coach, Susan was an instructor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) for 12 years where she mentored the IUP honor society, Kappa Delta Pi, to become a national award winner as Outstanding Chapter for eight consecutive years. Susan is an experienced project developer and in 2006, she created the grant-funded "Motivador program" where bilingual men and women learn basic coaching skills and then reach out to help newer immigrants. Susan holds a doctorate from IUP and wrote her dissertation on school reform from the perspective of classroom teachers.
Andrea Sigetich, MS, CPCC, MCC, Co-director of Training, PCCP
Andrea Sigetich is a recognized expert in leadership development. With the insight and demeanor of a sage, leavened with a strong dose of animation, Andrea brings over 30 years of solid international business experience in management and leadership development to her work as a consultant, coach, and mentor to managers and leaders. She is a Master Certified Coach (MCC) with over 5000 paid hours of client coaching. She also holds the Coaches Training Institute designation of Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC.) She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s in human resources management from the University of Utah College of Business. She is also a certification leader for CTI.
Andrea held senior leadership positions at General Electric, Digital Equipment, and Novell before opening her own business, SageCoach, in 1997. With co-author, Carol Leavitt, Andrea recently published a book. Play to Your Strengths transforms today's burgeoning interest with strengths from theoretical and nice-to-know into practical tools for leaders who want to build their own strengths and the strengths of their teams and their organizations. In her real life, Andrea also enthusiastically pursues hiking, kayaking, skiing, geocaching, and camping from her home in Bend, Oregon, which she shares with her husband, two Springer Spaniels, and three cats.
Janice M Sabatine, PhD, CSC, ACC
Dr. Janice Sabatine is President of Avanti Strategies, LLC, a firm specializing in executive coaching for women in science and medicine and biomedical communications consulting. She is a certified executive coach through the Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business and earned a BS in chemistry from the University of Notre Dame and a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. With over 30 years experience in biomedical research and as director of publications for several biomedical research programs as well as an independent publications consultant, she has been influential in the publication of over 50 journal articles and book chapters and nearly 30 funded grant applications. As an executive coach, Janice has helped numerous scientific and healthcare professionals become stronger, more effective leaders and successfully publish and secure funding. Her coaching approach focuses on behavioral change to improve workplace effectiveness. Janice has used her coaching and teaching skills as faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health, Carnegie Mellon University, Penn State University, Rocky Mountain University of the Health Professions, Chatham University, and Seton Hill University. She has developed and provides leadership, team building, and writing workshops for numerous academic and scientific associations. She is a member of the International Coach Federation, the American Medical Writers Association, the Institute of Coaching Professional Association, and currently serves as Immediate Past President of the Pittsburgh Coaches Association.
Kevin Ross Cheesebrough, PC, Captain USN (Ret)
Kevin brings to the PCCP years of experience in leadership and ethical development. As the Professor of Naval Science at Penn State University he taught leadership and ethics to aspiring naval officers. Following his retirement from the Navy, after twenty eight years of service, he was an adjunct professor at the Penn State Smeal School of Business. There he taught ‘Ethics for Business Managers,' a senior level management development course. Kevin takes a particular interest in teaching behavioral ethics, which explores where we fail to do what's right when we know it. He additionally emphasizes ‘ethic's in the gray areas' where most of our challenging ethical situations occur.
Kevin is a graduate from the Duquesne University PCCP, Cohort Seven. His area of coaching interest is leadership development, ethics, life/career, and military to civilian transition. He has established a successful coaching practice in State College, PA, and is also an external leadership coach for Penn State University.
Kevin has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Engineering from Penn State and a Master's Degree in Management Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Kevin lives in State College, PA, enjoying life with his wife Suzanne
Leslie Lupinsky, BA, CPCC, MCC
Leslie holds the highest coaching designation of Master Certified Coach and has provided over 5,000 hours of professional coaching to small business owners, solo entrepreneurs and coaches for over fifteen years. She is a senior faculty member of the Coaches Training Institute and serves on the faculty of several coach training organizations. Her passion for providing business development programs with integrity and authenticity has inspired her to develop successful programs for service-oriented organizations throughout North America. With Ken Oakley, she owns the company Inspired On Demand, and has facilitated thousands of participants in her fun, effective, and powerful methods for growing a small business. She is the co-author of The Inspired Business Approach: Building Your Business From Inspiration, Not Perspiration.
Ken Oakley, BA, CPCC, PCC
Ken is a professional certified coach, trainer, and leadership consultant dedicated to helping people achieve their full potential and flourish in all areas of their lives. With over 25 years of experience, he has worked with thousands of people worldwide to maximize joy, satisfaction, and effectiveness. With Leslie Lupinsky, Ken owns the company Inspired on Demand, focusing on helping small business owners build thriving businesses. Ken specializes in three additional areas: relationship coaching - helping people find and enhance healthy relationships; simplifying social media - using Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter to leverage business results; and somatic learning - accessing the wisdom of the body. He also serves on the faculty of the Coaches Training Institute. He is certified in The Leadership Circle Profile, EQi, and EQ360, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Jane Patterson Abbate, PCC, ORSCC, CPCC
Jane Patterson is both a leader and business owner. As an accomplished executive with over 20 years of experience, Jane has held C-level leadership positions in Marketing, Product Development and Human Resources. Currently, as Managing Partner of Cornerstone Team Development, she coaches leaders and teams to build strong relationships, communicate more effectively, engage in constructive conflict and increase productivity.
Jane has earned certifications as Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation, Organization and Relationship Systems Coach (ORSCC), and Professional Coactive Coach (CPCC). She is also an authorized facilitator of the Team Diagnostic Assessment© and the Index for Emotional Intelligence©. Jane earned a Masters Degree in Human Resources Management from Saint Francis University and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Clarion University. She is a featured columnist on team development for eTEQ, published by the Pittsburgh Technology Council.
