Global Leadership Curriculum

The faculty at Duquesne University’s School of Leadership and Professional Advancement has worked hard to make our programs the right blend of foundational coursework and classes tailored to the individual interests of our students.

The Global Leadership curriculum focuses on three main areas: Skills for Cross-Cultural Interaction, Knowledge of Critical Global Issues and International Leadership Skills. To provide a common language and frame of reference all students take two required courses. Then, students choose which ten elective courses are the best match for their interests and aspirations.

Required Courses:

  • Framing Global Issues
  • Leading Across Cultures and International Communication

Elective Courses: Students choose 10 of the following:

  • Comparative Leadership Studies
  • Understanding the Global Political Arena
  • Leading International Teams
  • Human Rights and Social Justice
  • Leading People and Managing Relationships
  • Issues in Leading International Development
  • Global Environmental Issues
  • Understanding the Global Economy
  • Global Health Issues
  • Ethical Governance
  • Leading International Change in a Global Setting
