Philosophy of Communication Conference

Welcome to the 2015 Department of Communication & Rhetorical Studies 2nd Biennial Philosophy of Communication Conference at Duquesne University co-sponsored by the Communication Ethics Institute.

The conference dates are Wednesday June 3 through Friday June 5, 2015.

The conference focuses on four themes, each engaged by a keynote speaker, relevant to the study of philosophy of communication:

(1) Rhetoric and Philosophy
Keynote: Calvin O. Schrag, Purdue University

(2) Organizational Communication/Corporate Communication
Keynote: Linda Putnam, University of California, Santa Barbara

(3) Semiotics and Phenomenology/Communicology
Keynote: Frank J. Macke, Mercer University

(4) Media Ecology and History
Keynote: Gary Genosko, University of Ontario Institute of Technology
