Welcome to the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Duquesne University

Our primary goal is to instruct students in the mathematical and computational sciences, and more generally to enhance our students' logical reasoning and problem solving skills.  Towards these goals, we strive to treat each student as an individual and we encourage significant interaction among students, faculty, and staff.  To ensure continual improvement in meeting our goals we are committed to supporting each other as we seek excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.
Many faculty members involve undergraduates in their research, providing significant opportunities for hands-on learning outside the classroom.  Student organizations for both mathematics and computer science majors provide opportunities for socialization, networking, and learning about careers.
