Scholarships
REVEREND JOSEPH A. LAURITIS SCHOLARSHIP
The $500 to $1,000 scholarships are for Duquesne University freshmen who are planning to pursue a Journalism career. This includes advertising, public relations, broadcast news and print news. The recipients will be selected by the Journalism Scholarship Committee with the help of the Financial Aid Office. Selection will be made on the basis of high academic achievement and previous high school activities, especially those that demonstrate an interest in journalism, along with demonstrated financial need. The scholarships will be awarded for the Spring 2013 semester and the scholarships are non-renewable. If you would like to apply for a Lauritis Scholarship, please complete an application by Friday, October 19 and mail or hand deliver to the Department of Journalism and Multimedia Arts.
C.S. MCCARTHY SCHOLARSHIP
To be considered for the C. S. McCarthy scholarship, you must be a student enrolled at Duquesne University majoring in Journalism or Public Relations/Advertising in the McAnulty College of Liberal Arts. Attach a letter and resume with your grade point average. This scholarship is based on need and students must be a Junior or Senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Please return a completed application by U.S. mail or hand deliver to the Department of Journalism and Multimedia by Friday, October 19, 2012.
WILLIAM T. RUSH SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is open to Journalism or Public Relations/Advertising majors with 60+ credits at the end of the Spring 2012 semester and a minimum of 3.25 GPA. The applicant's citizenship, service and leadership will also receive attention. Financial need is not a consideration. We want to make sure we know all we need to know about your extracurricular achievements when we make our choice. Please submit a letter outlining your qualifications by Friday, October 19, 2012, along with the application.
PROFESSOR EMERITUS PAUL KRAKOWSKI SCHOLARSHIP
To be considered for the Professor Emeritus Paul Krakowski Scholarship, you must be a student enrolled at Duquesne University majoring in Journalism in the McAnulty College of Liberal Arts. Pleased attach a letter and a resume with your grade point average. This scholarship is based on need and you must be a minority student. Please return completed application by U.S. mail or hand deliver to the Department of Journalism and Multimedia Arts Friday, October 19, 2012.
SUSAN M. REGAN ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
To be given consideration for the Susan M. Regan Endowed Scholarship, you must be a student at Duquesne University majoring in one of the four Journalism and Multimedia Arts majors in the McAnulty College of Liberal Arts. Please attach a letter stating how you have demonstrated a commitment to work and will continue to promote the use of lumber and/or other green/sustainable products. Need is not a factor. The application deadline is Friday, October 19, 2012. Please return by U.S. mail or hand deliver the completed application to the Department of Journalism and Multimedia Arts.
