Computer Science - Research

Research is an essential feature of the Computer Science program.

Our faculty have received significant research grant funding from the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, National Endowment for the Humanities and other organizations. Their research includes:

  • Digital humanities
  • Computational biology
  • Machine learning
  • Women in computing

One of the largest current research projects is the Evaluating Variations in Language (EVL) lab.

Qualified undergraduates, with faculty guidance and support, have participated in research and presented findings at local and national conferences.

Duquesne Computer Science students have won top honors in the undergraduate division of the prestigious, international ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) Student Research Competition, two years in a row.
