Graduate Applications and Requirements
All applicants to the Ph.D. program must have earned a Bachelor's degree at an accredited institution, and completed a minimum of 12 credits of coursework in Psychology. Individuals meeting these prerequisites are invited to apply.
The Deadline for the Application and all supporting materials is December 15th.

Your completed application file will contain the following:
- Your on-line application
- Curriculum Vitae or Resume
- 3 Letters of recommendation
- Official College Transcripts
- GRE scores and Toefl scores (Toefl only needed if International and 1st language is not English)
- An academic writing sample and
- Personal essay in response to the following:
Trace the development of your thinking with respect to psychology as a human science. Emphasize the authors and theories that have had the most impact on your conception of psychology. Discuss how you see the relationship between psychology and cultural diversity.
In evaluation of applications the selection committee will consider the follwing criteria: applicant's prior record of academic achievement and GRE Scores, compatibility of applicant's scholarly interest with those of the department faculty and the program curriculum, applicant's potential for making a contribution to the field of psychology, applicant's background and the potential make up of admitted class, with particular attention to the pedagogical importance of diversity among students. Applications are due by December 15th. This means the on-line application and all supporting documents must be received in the Graduate Office by December 15th. It is the responsibility of applicants to verify that their files are fully complete by the deadline dates specified. By April 1, the Department of Psychology will post letters to all applicants informing them as to whether they have been accepted into the graduate program.
Students may reapply to the program only once.
