At Duquesne, we are educating the musical leaders of the twenty first century through challenging music degree programs for the mind, heart, and spirit. Our University motto, "Spiritus Est Qui Vivificat," It is the Spirit Who Gives Life, inspires our classrooms, rehearsals, and concert venues.
Music students benefit from an enviable 4:1 student-to-faculty ratio, over 60 practice/rehearsal spaces, three professional recording studios, 68 Steinway pianos (All Steinway School), a music technology lab and a digital piano/computer lab. In additional, several lounges throughout the building provide students with a hospitable environment. School of Music students learn from professors who are dedicated instructors as well as internationally renowned performers, composers, arrangers, recording artists and master teachers. Our distinguished faculty and talented students perform over two hundred concerts and recitals on campus every year, including numerous tours, broadcasts, and recordings that reach a worldwide audience.
