Welcome to Biotechnology
The Master of Science in Biotechnology program at Duquesne University promotes the innovative development and application of biotechnology through an interdisciplinary curriculum, coordinated with research across the University and internship opportunities with local companies. It provides a bridge between the basic and applied sciences and among the research faculty, other research universities, and the biomedical industry, while stressing translational research.
The MS in Biotechnology is the opportunity for a graduate level experience where students seeking to apply their scientific backgrounds in the growing fields of biotechnology and biomedicine can further their training.
The MS in Biotechnology is a 30-credit graduate program which can be completed in 2 years or less even as a part-time student or faster as a full-time enrollee. It is designed to meet the needs of the working student with many of the courses in the evening or on-line.
The MS in Biotechnology is closely aligned with the Duquesne Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical and Health Professions Program to give students interested in medical and health careers an opportunity to fulfill the requirements for a Post-Baccalaureate certificate while earning their MS. The program also has a 4+1 option for undergraduate students who desire to start early with additional training and will guarantee a place for applicants upon successful completion of their BA or BS degree.
Importantly, graduate students maintaining good standing and enrolling in at least six credits in the M.S. in Biotechnology program may be eligible to save 25% on tuition and fees. Please visit the graduate special awards website for specific details.
