Class of 2011 Alyssa Conner was named one of Charlotte, NC area's "30 Under 30" by Elevate Lifestyle.


Of Note...
Class of 2003 Maria Osborne, BCACP, was recently elected to a two-year term on the board of directors of the PPA Educational Foundation.
Class of 1996 and 2000 Marsha McFalls was awarded a master's degree in education,
instructional technology in August, 2013 from Duquesne University.
Dr. McFalls is an assistant professor of pharmacy and director of
the Academic Research Center for Pharmacy Practice at Duquesne.
Class of 1966, 1977 and 1995 On Saturday, January 11, 2014, Anthony J. Colega, P'77, and his wife Cheryl P '95, ventured to the home of Leon Panella, P '66, for the 13th Annual Sopressata-Making Party where they were joined by about 40 friends, friends of friends, and Leon's fraternity brothers from Alpha Phi Delta. About 20 men produced 600 pounds of sopressata in one morning. It was a labor of love, and they can't wait to do it all over again!
Class of 1980 Cindy Lee Alden was nominated for Top Ten Female Vocalist
for the ICM awards in Nashville. She is working on a new CD
entitled His Royal Stamp.

Class of 2006 Josef Dax Berletic became a board-ceertified pharmacotherapy specialist in the fall of 2012.
Class of 2006 Melissa (Sherer) Krause has been elected to a two-year term on the Foundation Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association Educational Foundation.
Class of 2004 Natalie (Dumm) Ryan and her husband, Chad, have moved to Punta Gorda, Belize to volunteer at Hillside Healthcare International with their three children.
Class of 1991 Anna Marie (Italiano) Gsell received a Pharm.D. from the University of Florida.
Class of 1975 Daniel T. Wagner has returned from his 17th consecutive rainforest expedition during which he led 25 students (3 from Duquesne) to Belize to study medicine plants and natural products.
Class of 1966 Willie Somerset, former Duquesne basketball all-American and hall of famer, has retired from his career as a pharmacist for over 43 years. He is a counselor and mentor for young people.

Class of 2004 Elizabeth A. Kort was named 2011 Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year in Maryland, sponsored by Pharmacists Mutual Companies.


Of Note...
Class of 2006 Ellis DeCresce, President of Family Medical Supply Centers, is still actively working but spends 2 weeks of the month at his home in Florence, Italy where he will be retiring shortly with his wife, Gale.


Of Note...
Class of 2001 Robert Garmise Graduated (May 2007) School of Pharmacy, University of North Carolina with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dissertation entitled: Novel Dry Powder Preparations of Whole Inactivated Influenza Virus for Nasal Vaccination under the guidance of Dr. Anthony J. Hickey. Also, received the 2007 Outstanding Graduate Research in Pharmaceutical Technologies Award from the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
Class of 1944 Nina (Homka) Horsky, 84, is still active with volunteerism – serving along with her sister, Tatiana Fedec, on the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association at the Advocate Level, as Directors. Tatiana is a 1951 graduate of Duquesne University School of Pharmacy.

Class of 2005 Anna (Kasprzak) Meyers, completed residency, currently clinical pharmacist at VA Hospital in Florida.
Class of 2000 Lynsey Brandt will be completing the internal med residency at Penn 6/06 and beginning fellowship in geriatric medicine at Johns Hopkins 7/07.
Class of 1999 Karen (Balzer) Fancer, invited to lecture at the national meeting of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association in Denver, June 2007. The lecture is “Bone Marrow Transplantation for Beginners”.
Class of 1992 Shawn Anderson, O.S.B., was ordained to the Catholic priesthood on July 14, 2007 at Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica.
Class of 1992 William F. Bell, Jr. currently serves on the Duquesne University Board of Governors and is currently the Senior Clinical Pharmacist with Gould and Lamb of Bradenton, FL; was a speaker during the 2006 Parents of Galactosemic Children Conference held in Philadelphia, Pa in July 2006.
Class of 1977 Anthony J. Colega awarded the 2006 George H. Searight Memorial Award from the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association for his outstanding service to the profession of Pharmacy and his community.
Class of 1973 Joe Marrocco President-Elect Maryland Pharmacist Association and honored as Distinguished “Honorary” Alumnus, University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
Class of 1952 Paul Wherry opened Wherry Heritage Museum with Ohio Pharmacist Association in December 2006.


Of Note...
Class of 1976 Jay Yasgur- In 2005 published his 5th book, “III Great Homeopaths”. His web site is www.yasgur.net. He has lectured on homeopathy in this country and internationally- Brazil, Iceland, Nigeria.
Class of 1952 Paul Wherry established The Wherry Heritage Museum in Columbus, Oh.
