Class of 04
 Elizabeth A. Kort was named 2011 Distinguished Young Pharmacist of the Year in Maryland, sponsored by Pharmacists Mutual Companies.

SPRING 2009

OF NOTE…
Class of 06 Ellis DeCresce, President of Family Medical Supply Centers, is still actively working but spends 2 weeks of the month at his home in Florence, Italy where he will be retiring shortly with his wife, Gale.

SPRING 2008

OF NOTE…
Class of 01 Robert Garmise Graduated (May 2007) School of Pharmacy, University of North Carolina with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dissertation entitled: Novel Dry Powder Preparations of Whole Inactivated Influenza Virus for Nasal Vaccination under the guidance of Dr. Anthony J. Hickey. Also, received the 2007 Outstanding Graduate Research in Pharmaceutical Technologies Award from the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
Class of 44 Nina (Homka) Horsky, 84, is still active with volunteerism – serving along with her sister, Tatiana Fedec, on the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association at the Advocate Level, as Directors. Tatiana is a 1951 graduate of Duquesne University School of Pharmacy.

OF NOTE...
Class of 05 Anna (Kasprzak) Meyers, completed residency, currently clinical pharmacist at VA Hospital in Florida.
Class of 99 Karen (Balzer) Fancer, invited to lecture at the national meeting of the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association in Denver, June 2007. The lecture is “Bone Marrow Transplantation for Beginners”.
Class of 92 Shawn Anderson, O.S.B., was ordained to the Catholic priesthood on July 14, 2007 at Saint Vincent Archabbey Basilica.

SPRING 2007

OF NOTE...
Class of 00 Lynsey Brandt will be completing the internal med residency at Penn 6/06 and beginning fellowship in geriatric medicine at Johns Hopkins 7/07.
Class of 92 William F. Bell, Jr. currently serves on the Duquesne University Board of Governors and is currently the Senior Clinical Pharmacist with Gould and Lamb of Bradenton, FL; was a speaker during the 2006 Parents of Galactosemic Children Conference held in Philadelphia, PA in July 2006.
Class of 77 Anthony J. Colega awarded the 2006 George H. Searight Memorial Award from the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association for his outstanding service to the profession of Pharmacy and his community.
Class of 73 Joe Marrocco President-Elect Maryland Pharmacist Association and honored as Distinguished “Honorary” Alumnus, University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
Class of 52 Paul Wherry opened Wherry Heritage Museum with Ohio Pharmacist Association in December 2006. Open M – F 9:00 – 5:00.

OF NOTE...
Class of 76 Jay Yasgur- In 2005 published his 5th book, “III Great Homeopaths”. His web site is www.yasgur.net. He has lectured on homeopathy in this country and internationally- Brazil, Iceland, Nigeria.

Class of 52 Paul Wherry established The Wherry Heritage Museum in Columbus, OH.
