Student Pharmacists Honored at Awards Banquet

Student pharmacists were recognized for their organizational, academic and leadership achievements on April 13 at the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP), Alpha Beta Chapter of Rho Chi Society and Eta Chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma Initiation Ceremony, Awards Ceremony, and Banquet, sponsored by the Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy. Approximately 200 people, including student pharmacists, their friends and family, and the faculty and staff, attended the event in the Power Center Ballroom.
The APhA-ASP awarded student pharmacist presentations, followed by an awards presentation to student organizations for pharmaceutical/patient care, professionalism, policy/legislative issues, community service, international public health awareness and best overall organization.
Dean J. Douglas Bricker presented Teacher of the Year Awards to the following faculty members:

This was followed by initiation of new members into Rho Chi (Academic Honor Society in Pharmacy) and Phi Lambda Sigma (National Pharmacy Leadership Society).
The evening concluded with closing remarks by Dr. David J. Lapinsky, Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry and faculty advisor to Rho Chi Society.
