Study Abroad Application Procedures and Eligibility

Eligibility to Study Abroad

  • Be at least a sophomore in status
  • Have at least a 2.75GPA
  • Clean student record (The Office of International Programs will submit candidates to the Office of Student Life for disciplinary clearance checks.)

Next Steps

  1. Attended an information session 
  2. Visit the Office of International Programs (601 Union) to ask questions.
  3. Meet with your academic advisor and discuss your academic plans, including course options. Discuss possible course options and obtain course approvals for the classes you plan to take abroad. You want to be sure that the courses abroad will fulfill your major, minor, elective, and/or college core requirements.
  4. Submit your online application.   Submit your DUQ Abroad online application and ALL supporting documents (see below) by the published deadlines. Students applying to the Italian Campus must complete an online application through DUQ Abroad. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until the program is full. A complete application will reserve your place in the Italian Campus program and you will only lose your place (given that all academic and application requirements are met) if you fail to deposit by the deadline.

What is a Complete Application?

  1. Completed online application
  2. 'Advisor Approval'* request electronically through DUQ Abroad 
    (*Your application will not be complete until your academic advisor approves your application.  Your advisor does this online and your application will reflect this automatically)
  3. Submit $950 deposit by the deadline

Fall  March 1st
Spring  September 1st

(If these dates fall on a weekend, they will be due by the following Monday)
