Q. Does Duquesne University participate in a tuition payment plan that allows installment payments for each semester's bill?
A.

Yes. A monthly payment plan is administered by Nelnet. Brochures are available from the Student Accounts Office.

Q. What is a Direct PLUS Loan?
A. These are unsubsidized loans for the parents of dependent students and for graduate/professional students.  Student must be enrolled at least half time and interest is charged during all periods.
Q. How much can a parent or graduate student borrow?
A. The yearly limit on a PLUS Loan is equal to your cost of education minus any other financial aid you receive.
Q. Can  you  borrow more than the unmet cost of education?
A. No.
Q. When do you  begin repaying a PLUS Loan?
A. Generally, repayment begins within 60 days after the final loan
disbursement for the academic year. There is no grace period for these loans. Interest begins to accumulate at the time the first disbursement is made. Your parents may request in-school deferment while you are in school.
Q. What happens if my parent is denied a Direct PLUS loan?
A. If a parent is denied a PLUS loan, the student may be eligible for additional Unsubsidized Direct Loan funds.
Q. When does the Financial Aid office send out bills?
A. The Student Accounts office sends out bills and maintains the Account records, not the Financial Aid office. Billing questions and payment questions should be directed to the Student Accounts office at 412/396-6585.
