What Service Members Say About Their Duquesne University Experience
"The reason I chose Duquesne for my undergraduate degree was because of the quality of education I knew I would get. The reason I stayed for my graduate degree is because of Duquense's ability to help veterans reach their career goals regardless of the field of study."
~ Jason Hoffmann, U.S. Army 2010, Class of 2014, Class of 2016
"Growing up in a Navy family I learned the importance of service with honor and community. I chose Duquesne because the University emulated those values while giving me the education to fulfill my goal of making a difference."
~ Melissa Mayer, current School of Nursing student
"As I looked for a school to continue my education, Duquesne University stood out from the rest because of their welcoming staff and their unique military program, which is tailored for the working parent and service member."
~ Sgt. Roger Miranda, USMC
"I have been searching for the perfect degree program that will work for me on many levels. I wanted a graduate degree that complimented my bachelor’s degree, will assist me in my current task as a military officer, and will open doors to me for the careers I intend to pursue after I complete my commitment to the military. Due to my high operations tempo in the Air Force, I really was not able to take on a program that involved a lot of classroom time, which limited my choices dramatically. I wanted a great program, associated with a great school, that had minimal to no classroom time, and I found that at the Duquesne University School of Leadership and Professional Advancement."
~ Jennifer M. Aupke, Capt, USAF
"Duquesne has an excellent reputation for providing a quality education. Their programs and services for military members place them in a category well above others."
~ Lee Georg, US Army
“Duquesne University's School of Leadership and Professional Advancement online degree programs offer an immense amount of flexibility combined with an easily accessible online classroom setting and extremely professional professors and staff. Compared to traditional classroom learning, Duquesne's online degree has exceeded my expectations after only one semester. As an active duty Air Force officer, I am always hesitant to sign up for classes as our schedules and assignments are volatile, but Duquesne's degrees can be completed anywhere in the world. Along with flexibility, the Liberal Studies and Leadership master's degree should be required for all military officers and non-commissioned officers; it can easily be compared to Professional Military Education only in the civilian sector, offering leaders the chance to analyze and better develop their leadership skills. I highly recommend this program to anyone who is currently in a leadership position or seeking a leadership position in the future.”
~ Andrea Hooper, 1Lt, USAF
