Your participation is voluntary but strongly encouraged in order to promote early course success. The Blackboard orientation site will be available to you throughout the semester.

To access the Blackboard orientation site:

  2. Select the "Blackboard Bb icon" (upper-right hand corner) Note: You can also access Blackboard at any time by visiting duq.edu/blackboard.
  3. Once in Blackboard, select the "Courses" tab
  4. Select "Blackboard Student Orientation" to enter the course

Help with Blackboard

There are a number of ways to locate tip sheets and help options while logged into Blackboard. If at any time you have a technical issue concerning your use of Blackboard, you are encouraged to the suggested help screens listed below.

  • BLACKBOARD HELP (blue tab) - After clicking this tab, several gray sub-tabs will appear. Locate the tab for the item in question, and also visit the "Bb Basics" sub-tab.
  • BLACKBOARD HELP (left hand menu link) - This link opens the Blackboard Help manual. You can search the manual for step-by-step help for Blackboard features and functions.
  • SUBMIT A HELP/REQUEST TICKET - Click the "Help Desk" blue tab or "Blackboard Help" blue tab. Within either page, select "Submit Help Ticket", input your MultiPass credentials, and then provide a brief explanation of your problem. A staff member will reply to the ticket within 1 business day.

Completing Student Evaluation Surveys (SES)

2 weeks before the end of each semester or term, you will be asked to participate in the evaluation of our classes and our instructors. It is a great service to the University and to the School of Leadership as it helps to improve everyone’s educational experience, especially the students who follow in your footsteps. In fact, you and your classmates are direct beneficiaries of the feedback given by the students who preceded you.

Your feedback is vitally important for identifying areas where we can improve how we teach and how we interact with you, our students. Each and every voice is necessary; low response rates are enormously problematic for interpretation and decision-making and do little to assist in continually improving our courses.

As with all evaluations of our courses and programs, your input is not only important, it is also kept in the strictest confidence. Your privacy and confidentiality are of the utmost importance during the process, and your participation in the surveys will in no way affect your grade. Your instructors will not be able to view the survey results until after final grades have been submitted.
