Facilities Management

Sustainability

Facilities Management is committed to sustainable operations and seeks to raise campus awareness of the benefits of recycling and other green practices. These include cleaning and purchasing decisions and reduction and reuse to complement recycling.

We recognize that all green practices resonate, not only within our campus boundaries, but, within our region as well. As administrators, students, staff and faculty, the sustainable options we are exposed to at Duquesne will influence behavior for generations and improve the measurable cleanliness of the local environment.

What and Where to Recycle

  • Standard products such as all paper types, cardboard, plastics, glass and metals may be deposited together in the blue recycle bins located throughout campus.
  • Read about recycling information on computers, electronics, ink jets and batteries.
  • Cell phones and music players can be deposited in the recycling collection boxes at the following campus locations:

                       All Living Learning Center Lobbies
                       Student Union, 2nd Floor
                       Rockwell Hall, Concourse Level
                       Mellon Hall, East Lobby

If you have an idea or comment about recycling collection or wish to augment the current program on your floor or department, please do not hesitate to contact your Building Services Supervisor or Facilities Management at extension 6011.
