Guidelines for our Brand and Logo Use
Guidelines for our Brand and Logo Use
Maintaining a consistent graphic identity is key to reinforcing recognition of the Duquesne University image. When our logo and name are reproduced in the same way every time, people become familiar with our brand, and we enhance our standing in the community.
The Duquesne name and logo is at the heart of our graphic identity with:
- Specific colors, fonts and formats
- A timeless brand image
- A single, clear message
The Office of Public Affairs protects and controls the use of this image and approve all uses of the name and logo.
Any exceptions to these guidelines must be approved by Public Affairs.
Digital Files of our Logo
Internal departments working with external vendors should contact the Public Affairs department for a digital file of the logo. EPS format is recommended for general printing, but we will be able to provide the best format for a specific use: printing, Web, t-shirts etc.
- Do not attempt to make up your own version of the logo.
- Do not use the Duquesne gothic D as a stand-alone piece of art.
- Do not distribute or make copies of the logo for anyone or any project that has not been approved by Public Affairs.
You must provide a proof of any project using the logo to Public Affairs, so we can grant approval prior to publication or production. For more information, see the Terms and Conditions for Use of the Duquesne University Logo.

The Official Logo
The Duquesne University logo is made up of a Gothic “D” in white on a dark colored, solid octagon shape. To the right are the words “Duquesne University” stacked on two lines with a thin line in between them.
The official Duquesne University logo contains both the Gothic D and the university name. They should not be used separately.
Logos for Schools and Colleges
Public Affairs has created secondary logos for schools and programs that incorporate the official University logo and the name of the school or program. Contact us if you need a digital file of these or a new secondary logo.
