- 45 - 50 minutes
- discuss why you are seeking counseling
- detailed questions about your background
- setting goals
- set future meeting dates and times
Q. What happens next?
A. Meeting with the same counselor will help develop trust making it easier to discuss problems and concerns. This helps you plan how you may want to change your thinking or behavior.
If medication might be helpful, your counselor will refer you to our Center psychiatrist for medication evaluation. Appropriate outside referrals may also be recommended.
Q. How much will it cost?
A. Counseling is offered as a free service to currently registered Duquesne students.
Q. Are the counselors students at the University?
A. No. Three staff members are licensed psychologists and two are post-doctoral residents.
