Working at Duquesne

Staff Introductory & Review Guidelines

Clerical/secretarial staff are subject to a 90-day introductory and review period when they are hired, promoted or transferred into a new position. The introductory and review period is when the employee is expected to focus on learning and adjusting to the new position and to the policies and procedures of the department and the University. The supervisor also uses this time to assist the employee in meeting job expectations and to determine the employee's suitability for the position.

Employees should receive a 30th, 60th, and 76th -work day review. Supervisors should complete the Introductory and Review Form, which will be forwarded to them by the Office of Human Resource Management. Once the employee and the supervisor review the form, it should be signed by both parties and returned to the Office of Human Resource Management.

It is important to note that nothing contained in this section or any other section of this web page is considered to be a guarantee of continuous employment with the university.

Further questions related to the Introductory and Review Form may be directed to the Office of Human Resource Management by calling (412) 396-6575 or by e-mail at hr.office@duq.edu.
