Beethoven on the Bluff: Septet/Piano Trios I, Sept. 22

Septet/Piano Trios I
features the Septet, one of Beethoven's most popular works during his lifetime. Works include Septet for Strings and Winds, op. 20; Piano Trio, op. 70, no. 1 Ghost Trio; and Piano Trio, op. 70, no. 2. The concert will feature the Duquesne Piano Trio: David Allen Wehr, pianist and the Jack W. Geltz Distinguished Piano Chair; Charles Stegement, violinist and concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Opera/Ballet Orchestra; and Adam Liu, cellist and assistant principal cellist for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO). Among the additional performers are bassist Jeffrey Turner; clarinetist Ron Samuels; bassoonist Phililp Pandolfi; and Zachary Smith on horns. Guest artists are Randolph Kelly, principal violist for the PSO, and David Premo, associate principal for the PSO. Suggested donation: $10.
