Flu Treatment and Prevention

Good health is essential to student success. Because college environments involve close contact with others, Duquesne's Health Service is experienced and prepared for illnesses among the student body. You can check this site for health news updates.

For the most up-to-date information on flu, visit www.flu.gov, www.achd.net, the CDC Website, or call 1-800-CDC-INFO (1.800.232.4636).

If You Think You Have the Flu

Students who develop flu-like symptoms-fever of 100 degrees F along with cough, runny nose, sneezes, headaches, body aches, chills or fatigue, and sometimes diarrhea and vomiting, should immediately call Health Service at 412.396.1650 for instructions.

For after-hours care and urgent care, resident students should call the front desk of their Living Learning Center for assistance.

Taking Preventive Measures

Maintaining your health is also a personal responsibility. Students should know how to minimize your risk of contracting illnesses, what to do if you get sick, and what resources are available on campus to help you.
