The Job Search - Refresh Your Skills
Resource Development Programs are set up to inform students and alumni of career-related topics. These varied programs are set up as group and/or individual sessions. Programs are open to all students and alumni of the University.
Career Counseling is provided through individual meetings with career counselors to help you develop your best resume, cover letter, job search strategies, interviewing style, and to answer any career-related questions.
Workshops are scheduled on a regular basis to assist students and alumni with career-related topics. These group sessions may include resume writing, interviewing techniques and job search strategies. Our workshop schedules, for which you may pre-register, are posted in our Events Calendar.
Mock interviews are practice interviews, a "simulation" of what a real interview is like. We offer three different opportunities:
- Mock Interview Days, held throughout the semester, allows you to interview in a professional environment with skilled experts providing the necessary practice they need without the pressure.
- Mock interviews may be conducted by your career counselor and recorded for review. Please contact Career Services for more information.
- DuqCareerLink contains a Mock Interview module where you may practice using a recommended interview or creating your own. Your career counselor will review this as well.
The Career Resource Library, located within the Career Services Center, contains information on hundreds of employers for use in your company research. Periodicals, graduate school guides, resume writing and cover letter guides, employer materials are also available. We also recommend using the Internet for company research.
