Emergency Cancellations & Delays

In case of a campus-wide emergency or inclement weather, Duquesne University administration may decide to cancel classes and close academic and administrative offices. These situations are communicated to various radio and television stations for general broadcast and to students through the DU Alert system. If you are in doubt, call the Weather Information hotline: 412.396.1700.

The Career Services Center will follow the University's direction related to cancellations. This will include our sponsorship of any recruiting events and interviews.

Here are three possible scenarios:

Opening Late

If the university experiences a late opening, we will begin an interview schedule as soon as the university opens. The university will open at 10:30 a.m. in the case of a 2-hour delay. Any interviews that are missed due to the late opening, we will try to reschedule throughout the day.

Classes Cancelled

If the university announces CLASSES ARE CANCELLED for the day and offices remain open, all recruiting events--on-campus interviewing, job fairs, etc., will be conducted as scheduled.

Classes Cancelled and Offices Closed

If the university announces that all classes are cancelled and offices closed for the day, the recruiting and interviewing event (including job or career fairs) will be cancelled and rescheduled for another date as quickly as possible.
