The Noble J. Dick Endowed Chair in Academic Leadership recognizes a faculty member from any discipline who demonstrates exceptional leadership in scholarship, teaching or service.
Drennen is the lead faculty representative for Duquesne for the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Technology and Education (NIPTE), an independent, nonprofit organization representing 11 U.S. universities that are leaders in pharmaceutical science and engineering. He also coordinated the pharmacy school’s and NIPTE’s efforts in providing critical, hands-on training last fall to 38 delegates from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Drennen’s scholarly activities include dozens of peer-reviewed articles as well as conducting national and international presentations.
