Established by Larry J. Sarginger, this scholarship benefits students enrolled in the professional phase in the Mylan School of Pharmacy and is awarded based on need requirements, with consideration given to merit.

Robert G. Scanlon Endowed Third Alternative Fund
Established by the living trust of Robert G. Scanlon and the Scanlon family, this fund is awarded to students residing in the state of Pennsylvania who, after all resources of financial aid have been exhausted, have remaining need, or to students confronted with unforeseen personal crises that can be substantiated.

Created by Hugo J. Scarinzi, P'54, this fund benefits students who meet the need and merit requirements, with preference given to students enrolled in the Mylan School of Pharmacy.

Students must be graduates of public or parochial schools within the greater Pittsburgh area, with a preference for students of Irish-American heritage.

Sylvia K. Shiner Endowed Scholarship
Established by Sylvia K. Shiner, this fund benefits students enrolled in the Mary Pappert School of Music who are studying the flute, and who meet the need and/or merit requirements.  Renewal is dependent upon academic progress as determined by the Dean of the Mary Pappert School of Music.

Stephen M. Stoffan Endowed Scholarship
Created by the estate of Stephen M. Stoffan, this scholarship benefits freshmen and sophomore who meet the need requirements and who have completed at least 30 credits at Duquesne University.  Students are to be from a Byzantine Catholic grade school or high school within the Diocese of Pittsburgh or a Roman Catholic grade school or high school within the Pittsburgh Diocese.

Michael and Erica Strasser Endowed Scholarship
Established by the Strasser family (Christopher, A'69; Michael; Stephen, A'75, GA'76; Elizabeth; Peter; Paul and Thomas, A'83), in memory of their parents, Michael and Erica Strasser, this fund benefits graduate Philosophy students who have been advanced to candidacy and is awarded based on need and merit. Preference is given to students doing research in Medieval or Classical Philosophy, along with student recommendations given by faculty engaged in these majors.
