Palumbo-Donahue School of Business
Unrestricted Giving: Unrestricted gifts allow the dean and administration to direct resources to the School’s most critical needs and to respond to unexpected opportunities. The vast majority of gifts are designated for a specific program or purpose, making such discretionary funds particularly valuable.
Scholarship Funds: Our Spiritan founders and sponsors were determined that the benefits of a Duquesne education should be available to all, regardless of ability to pay. Endowed scholarships ensure that the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business can attract and retain the most talented and motivated undergraduate students for generations to come.
Study Abroad Travel Funds: In an era of worldwide competition, students need a global perspective to be fully prepared for business careers. Studying abroad provides an understanding of different cultures that cannot be gained through classroom learning alone. The School offers three-week, full semester and year-long programs in locations around the world. Funds for travel support will ensure that no student is denied the benefits of study abroad due to financial need.
Student Leadership Funds: Hands-on learning projects in the various departments help students to apply concepts learned in the classroom in real-world situations. These funds support programs that bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Graduate Fellowships: The quality of a school’s graduate students both reflects and enhances its academic vitality and scholarly reputation. Enhanced fellowship funding will allow Duquesne to recruit the most outstanding candidates available.
Faculty Endowments: The School hosts permanent endowed chairs in global competitiveness and investment management. Additional endowed chairs will allow the School to attract and retain world-renowned faculty in other key disciplines. Endowed professorships and term professorships support tenure-track faculty members on an ongoing basis or for a specified number of years, helping recognize and retain outstanding younger faculty. Endowed visiting professorships bring scholars from around the world to share their experience, expertise and international perspective.
Endowed Funds for Faculty Leadership: Prominent professionals help the School keep pace with rapid change in the business environment. These funds provide stipends to secure the participation and insight of accomplished executives.
Endowed Faculty Resource Funds: These discretionary funds allow the Dean to provide additional support for particularly innovative teaching and research initiatives.
