Serial Entrepreneur Who Owned 48 SuperCuts Stores to Address 13th Annual Entrepreneur’s Growth Conference

Dozens of workshops, a business-building trade show and dynamic keynote speaker, Steven Breuner, will highlight the 13th annual Entrepreneur’s Growth Conference at Duquesne University on Thursday, May 12. The event, presented by the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), will meet in the Duquesne Union from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Entrepreneur Steven Breuner will deliver the luncheon keynote address. Breuner built 48 SuperCuts stores in Pennsylvania, which he sold last year to launch two new businesses. He will share his extensive experience in advertising, marketing, sales promotion and operations.

Jason Brown, chief executive officer of Right by Nature, a market for natural and organic products that has offered online ordering, will deliver the morning keynote, discussing business leadership and organizational growth. During the last 33 years, he has opened six businesses, hired nearly 1,000 employees, raised more than $60 million and served 1 million-plus customers.

“By investing time in the conference, listening to the speakers, attending workshops and networking with other  owners of small- and medium-sized businesses, conference participants will learn how to take advantage of opportunities and grow their organizations,” said Christine Hughes, SBDC training manager. “They’ll leave the conference with a better idea of what’s happening in the Pittsburgh business climate today, and the SBDC is available to help with any follow-up.”

Besides the keynotes, attendees will have the opportunity to explore exhibitor displays at the tradeshow and participate in the many workshops. Workshop tracks are geared toward new ventures, established businesses and technology companies, with sessions on strategic planning and management, financing growth and improving bottom line, and advertising, marketing and social media promotions. Other sessions are geared to women and minorities, technology interests and eco-entrepreneurs.
