Take Our Child to Work Day - April 28, 2016

As part of HR's commitment to providing people-centered services and fostering development of the whole person, we are pleased to announce a university-wide celebration of Take Our Child to Work Day on Thursday, April 28, 2016.

Summary:
Children and dependents of Duquesne University faculty and staff ages 8 - 18 will be invited to accompany their parent to work for a day. Human Resources will sponsor a welcome breakfast and the children will spend the rest of the day with their parents. Faculty and staff should request permission to bring their child from their supervisor and should use good judgement when planning appropriate activities for the day.

Event Schedule:
8:15 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Check-in
8:30 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. Light Breakfast with Parents and Children
9:15 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Welcoming Remarks
9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Remainder of Day with Parent

Location:
Rev. Sean Hogan, C.S.Sp. Dining Hall - Towers Living and Learning Center.

Attendance Certificates:
Attendance certificates will be available for the children and distributed during the breakfast program.

Registration:
Advanced registration is required via MyLEAD. Faculty and staff members must register by close of business Friday, April 22, 2016. Once registration is complete, registered employees will be contacted and asked to confirm the names of the children who will accompany them.

New Lactation Room Supports Nursing Mothers on Campus

A private lactation room is now available on campus to support nursing mothers returning to work and/or school.  Available to all University faculty, staff and students, this resource will offer a secure, clean space for mothers to express breast milk on campus.

Located in Room 331 if the Student Union, the space is equipped with a comfortable chair, an electrical outlet and table for a pump, a supply table and a door lock to ensure privacy.  Access is available during the Union's normal operating hours.

EAP Adds Financial and Legal Assistance

The Office of Human Resource Management is pleased to announce the addition of legal and financial services for all eligible full-time employees. This new benefit is an added value through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This new service will help you manage the complexities of your unique legal and financial situations.

Little Giant FCU Moves to Room 109 Libermann Hall

The campus location for the Little Giant Federal Credit Union has changed to Room 109 Libermann Hall. Campus hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Campus telephone is 412-391-1340. The credit union can also be reached at their McKees Rocks office at 412-771-6400 or via their Web site at www.littlegiantfcu.org

City of Pittsburgh Changes EMST Tax to Local Services Tax (LST)

The City of Pittsurgh announced a change to the Emergency and Municipal Services Tax. Under Pennsylvania Act 7, the tax will be changed to the Local Services Tax.
