Course Titles and Descriptions
DMA 226 Introduction to Web Design and Development
This course will introduce students to the technical and creative aspects of web page design. Students will study the best ways to add multimedia content, including graphics, text, animation, audio, video and interactive content to websites. Emphasis is on HTML and a life-cycle model for web development.
DMA 464 Interaction Design
The course examines the interconnection of human thinking and behavior and the design of interactive products and user experiences. From this perspective, students engage in user research and iterative product design and development methodologies. They write project specifications, develop wireframes and storyboards, prototype interactive designs and perform user testing. They evaluate designs through empirical measurement using a variety of innovative tools. The course emphasizes digital interactions for screen-based interfaces (e.g., mobile and web).
DMA 472 Client Size Scripting I
DMA 475 Database for Web Development
Students study database theory, with application to websites, exploring how a web page can rely upon a database to store and retrieve data, which in turn produces dynamic content. Students will build a website which uses embedded SQL to add, edit and delete content from a site. This course covers database design theory, queries and N-Tier Architecture.
