A limited number of graduate assistantships are available. These awards are assigned on a competitive base to full-time graduate students. Graduate assistants work 20 hours per week and perform one or more of the following duties: faculty research assistance, teaching assistance and administrative assistance.
With this award, a graduate assistant may receive up to nine credits of tuition remission for the fall and the spring semesters. Additionally, graduate assistants receive stipends for each semester they are awarded the assistantships. Appointments, which are made after the applicants have been accepted for admission, are for a period of one semester. Reappointments are made in subsequent semesters based upon demonstrated competence and satisfactory academic performance.
