Duquesne Professor's Writing Wins National Award
Green Tree resident Dr. Jason Margolis, professor and chair of the Department of Instruction and Leadership in Education at Duquesne University, co-authored an article that has earned the PDiE Best Article 2017 by the editorial board of the journal Professional Development in Education. The journal is published by the International Professional Development Association.
Margolis wrote The Missing Link in Teacher Professional Development: Student Presence along with education graduate students Anne Doring and Rebecca Durbin.
A faculty member in Duquesne’s School of Education since 2011, Margolis’ expertise focuses on the intersection of teacher learning, professional development and efforts to change schools. He has held faculty positions at Washington State University, University Preparatory Academy charter school in Detroit and in the New York City Public School system.
Margolis has authored and co-authored pieces that have been published in Education and Urban Society, the Journal of Education for Teaching and Action in Teacher Education, among other journals.
With more than 200 members across 17 countries, the International Professional Development Association works to support, develop and promote good professional development and learning practice.
