Community Engagement Scholars
As a Scholar, you will be placed with a select community-based organization in close proximity to campus to assist in managing service-learning activities. For 6.5 hours each week, you will coordinate with the agency staff to schedule training and service work for service-learning students at Duquesne University. You will also benefit from 50 hours of free training and provide at least 26 hours of direct service in a local neighborhood. Through this program, you will increase your exposure to local communities, expand your professional networks, gain valuable experience in management and administration, and meaningfully contribute to the Pittsburgh community. Explore more details about the program, or check out what our current and former Scholars have to say.
The program involves a yearlong term of service. Applications for 2015-2016 will be accepted on a rolling basis, beginning February 15, 2015 through March 15, 2015. Interested students are encouraged to schedule an informational meeting with Kate A. Molchan, Community Engagement Program Manager to find out more about the program and application process.
