Technologically Advanced Schools

Because the School of Education at Duquesne University uses the Leading-Teacher program in certifying all graduates, students enrolled in the BCIT Certificate program will have extensive field experiences before they begin actual student teaching.

The experiences will be in school buildings and school districts which meet the technological and educational requirements of the School of Education and the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business.

Business coursework in the program will include

  • marketing
  • management
  • computer systems
  • economics
  • business law
  • finance
  • media arts
  • communications
  • statistics

Upon graduation, students will have the content knowledge to teach any subject in the business, computer or information technology curriculum in grades K-12.

Education coursework in the program includes instruction in teaching students with special needs and students who qualify and English as a Second Language students.
