Successfully Interviewing On Campus
Schedule your interview date as early as possible.
We have limited interview space; therefore dates fill up quickly. Be sure that you have provided career services with your updated job/internship descriptions in a timely manner.
Preselect students by the designated deadline.
Be sure that you have identified all preselect students in DuqConnection two weeks prior to your interview date. Late preselects don’t give students the opportunity to properly prepare for the interview. Preselects not received within 7 days of the interview date may result in the cancellation of the interview date. Interview schedules must be finalized no later than 24 hours prior to the interview date.
Provide recruiters with necessary information
Often those who make the arrangements for the on campus interviews, thus receiving our information, are not the ones coming to campus to recruit. Please be sure to forward all pertinent information (i.e. schedules, location, parking information, etc) to these recruiters or provide us with their information, so we may contact them directly.
Park in the Designated Parking Garage
Please be sure to park in the Forbes Avenue Garage. Obtain a ticket as you enter the garage and bring your parking ticket to Career Services to have it validated. If you are arriving after 10 a.m., you may have trouble finding a parking space, in which case you may be asked to cross-over to the Locust Garage. If you are asked to cross-over to the Locust Garage, indicate that you are interviewing at Career Services and give them your company name. They should have your company name on a list of approved visitors to campus and not charge you to enter the Locust Garage.
Bring Plenty of Business Cards
Career Services would like a copy of your business card to keep on file. Many students will also ask for your business card at the conclusion of the interview.
Complete Employer Evaluation
Please complete and return the Employer Evaluation in your Employer Folder. We are dedicated to providing the best services possible to both our employers and students. Your feedback plays an integral part in being able to achieve this goal.
Keep us Informed
We’d love to hear from you. Please let us know which students were invited back for 2nd interviews, who received offers and who accepted them. At the end of the semester, Career Services will send out a final outcome assessment form asking for this information. Please take the time to respond.
