Annual ODI Pre-Orientation
The ODI Pre-Orientation program takes place two days prior to the general orientation program. Participants in this program can check in early and engage in various activities on campus with culturally diverse students, alumni and members of the Pittsburgh community.
First Year Transition Program
The ODI Transition Program is a retention initiative aimed at addressing the critical issues affecting the performance, persistence, and success of students. The process of students becoming integrated both socially and academically into college life involves attaining a good fit between the needs, abilities, and interests of the student and the culture of the institution. Participation in this program will provide you with the support and guidance needed to successfully navigate the college environment and utilize the various resources to accomplish their goals.
Professional Mentoring Program
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) at Duquesne University developed the ODI Mentoring Program to provide undergraduate students with opportunities to interact and learn from mentors who can assist in their overall development. Mentors consist of graduate students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni, and professionals in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.
The key objectives are to assist students by providing support and guidance on issues that will help them succeed inside and outside of the classroom. It is expected that both the mentor and the protégé be committed to the relationship.
ODI-Multicultural Book Club
The purpose of the ODI Book Club is to provide a forum for members of the Duquesne campus community to engage in spirited dialogues about books that directly address issues of diversity and social justice. Participants will meet as a cohort over the course of one semester to critically reflect on issues presented in the book. Duquesne students, faculty, and staff are welcomed to participate.
