What is DUV?
DUV stands for Duquesne University Volunteer
Part of the Division of Student Life, the DUV program fulfills Duquesne University 's promise to assist people in need.
Reflecting this spirit of service, DUV provides community service and outreach opportunities for all students and employees. Together, we focus on serving the Pittsburgh community but also reach out to locations across the country and around the world that need assistance.
- DUV helps to connect any Duquesne student, faculty or staff member, or organization seeking a volunteer opportunity. Individuals are interviewed and based on their interest, goals and the amount of time they wish to commit, are referred to appropriate volunteer sites.
- DUV works collaboratively with other University organizations to coordinate volunteer events and fundraisers on campus. These events include new student orientation, volunteer days, disaster response, the volunteer fair, and a multitude of service projects.
- DUV is increasingly recognized by social service agencies and other non-profit organizations through the area as a resource for obtaining volunteers for on-going assistance, help with special events and fundraising efforts.
