TAP No. 20: Jury Duty
Scope
This policy applies to all University employees.
Purpose
The purpose of the policy is to describe how the University will compensate employees who are called to jury duty or are subpoenaed as witnesses related to their employment at the University.
I. Policy
Employees required to fulfill their obligation to serve on jury duty or those subpoenaed as witnesses will continue to receive their full pay from the University. University employees who work shifts will have their wages continued only if jury duty specifically interferes with the shift they are working. Service for time other than their regular shift will not be covered.
The University may ask for verification of a summons or subpoena in order to provide for payment for time away from work.

Violations of this policy will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are subject to formal disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
