Biography

Dr. Alicia Kaplan is the Division Chief of Psychiatry for DUQCOM. She has practiced adult psychiatry at Allegheny Health Network (AHN) since 2005.


Throughout her tenure, she has established a specialization in the field of Anxiety Disorders in providing consultation and treatment for the multidisciplinary Functional Bowel Clinic, the Autoimmunity Institute, Department of Neurosurgery, and Women’s health.  She is the Medical director for the Center for Adult Anxiety & OCD at AHN.  Dr. Kaplan was the principal investigator on an open label trial in duloxetine in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome and comorbid generalized anxiety disorder.  She had been a frequent presenter at regional and national conferences on anxiety disorders, including an AHN Quality Improvement Program,  and has 12 publications in peer reviewed journals and books.  She is an invited reviewer for Anxiety Disorders for the Office on Women’s Health, U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.  Dr. Kaplan completed her psychiatry residency and fellowship at the Compulsive/Impulsive and Anxiety Disorders Program  at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
