Biography

Dr. Amin Ghorbanpour is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Duquesne University. He earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology and an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Tarbiat Modares University, specializing in flight dynamics and control. He completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Cleveland State University, where his research focused on developing control algorithms for electrical motors and cooperative robot manipulators, aiming at optimizing energy regeneration. Dr. Ghorbanpour also conducted research as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, Davis, where he developed an autonomous unmanned surface vehicle with the support of the California Department of Transportation. His research interests include energy harvesting in mechanical systems, control of robotic systems, design and development of autonomous vessels, and guidance, navigation, and control of aerospace vehicles.
